Support Sandbridge special events and event homes

I have lived in Sandbridge all of my life. Yes, event homes do have their issues, like any house would, but I believe it is wrong to prohibit someone from renting a house with the intent to host a wedding or some other celebration. Realty companies put the care and time into making sure the guests, owners, and residents are content with the conditions of the houses and of the surrounding areas. Plus, weddings and happy events bring life and economic thriving to the area. I do not see how this could be shown in a negative light.

I support special events in Sandbridge!

Sandbridge is made for families and for the celebrations that are very special.

I am appalled why a really tiny minority of Sandbridge residents would jeopardize a great wedding venue for the rest of us. We were planning to get married there next year. It is so cost effective and oceanfront view are drop-dead gorgeous. Our wedding party is already planning photo sessions with the rising sun on the beach and setting sun on the bayside. Sandbridge is one of a kind for weddings venues. My humble request to activists – please back off. You do not live on the oceanfront. Please stop policing it. Let the event homeowner deal with it.

Please allow events in Sandbridge to continue...it's the out of control high school and college parties that needs to be addressed.

Very important to continue allowing events at these large rentals.

I completely agree with the petitioners. Big event homes are too important to the Sandbridge community to lose!

Please do not be swayed by the small group of people who want to remove the joy people feel at Sandbridge Beach. There are few places in Virginia where families can gather. Having events there produce at least two benefits for Virginia: (1) Taxes raised benefit the City and Commonwealth; (2) Profits made by local businesses benefit the economy and produce more taxes for the City and Commonwealth; and (3) Happy memories created and shared by friends and family will benefit the Virginia Tourist industry with free "word-of-mouth," advertising.

We do not agree with small group opposing event homes. Rental homes and event homes provide good tax revenue for the community which is used in Sandbridge

Please dont change anything that is a beautiful place to vacation

The proposed ordinance does nothing to solve the three problems that affect all of Sandbridge Beach: noise; parking; trash.

I have grown up coming to Sandbridge to visit my grandparents and have lived in Sandbridge for almost 20 years. This community thrives on our visitors from out of town as do all of the businesses here. To completely disallow Event Homes would be stupid and petty.

Close to 80% of the population lives within 60 miles of the coast. Vacation homes all around the US cater to special events, family events, church group retreats and vacations that bring us together & improve our economy. We as Sandbridge residents should be honored To be chosen as there vacation destanation location and enjoy our National Wildlife Refuge,Little Island Park and Our beautiful Sandy Beaches. We do not support eliminating Sandbridge as a RESORT DESTINATION COMMUNITY due to a small group that desires to make waves where not needed!

As a community member I do not believe that event homes are a problem. How about you focus something that matters like our veterans or our public school system.

I find Sandbridge a quiet beach community. I have never had a problem with visitors coming to celebrate weddings, family reunions, and get togethers with multiple families. I, myself, rented a larger home this summer for our family reunion because my home was too small. Sandbridge is a wonderful place to bring everyone together.

Utterly ridiculous, go live somewhere else if you don't want to share the area with others. Sandbridge is too beautiful to not share

I do think this is confusing. Yes Sandbridge is a resort town and should stay that way. Event homes are OK but I do agree with some fair restrictions as it does become a commercial use. As to others who believe "Parties" are a problem, call the police! remember 15% of gross rental income goes to the city and state.

Sandbridge is a vacation area, for all types of vacations and events attached to vacations.
