I agree with consensus. A few anecdotal problems should not define the rule or in this case new laws.
The handful of people who have started this campaign for new laws are being subtle, sneaky in my view. They are not asking for a direct ban on the events. They want new laws that will make it extremely hard to have weddings, effectively ending the decades of tradition of getting married on the beaches of Sandbridge. Since Sandbridge is under the jurisdiction of VA Beach. The beachfront wedding will end in entire VA Beach area!
Building larger homes in Sandbridge became feasible after public water and sewer came to Sandbridge in 2009. The property values have appreciated significantly since then thanks to the construction boom which includes the event hosting homes. The handful of people in question should cash in and move to a beachfront that does not host weddings. Good luck finding that!

It's all money coming into the community. If you can't get married on the beach, where can you have a beach wedding?

I just got married on the beach it was fantastic others should have the same opportunity

Anytime people come together it is a special occasion or event. It can be any number of people and for any reason. No one should be exempt from coming together for any reason.

My daughter was married this past April At Sandbridge and it was beautiful. Please do not take this opportunity away from others to cherish.

I am excited about my upcoming wedding on the beautiful beach of Sandbridge. I could not imagine getting married any place else in the world accept where I fell in love.

I was married this past May 21, 2016 at the Baja restaurant in Sandbridge and we rented two beautiful sandbridge houses right down the street for bridal party and family to stay at for the weekend! It was a great experience and it was amazing to have everyone near to the venue and all in the same place :) We had many out of town guests joining us that weekend and renting sandbridge properties kept us all together for this very special time in our lives. We could not have imagined not being able to have our special event in Sandbridge!

Our godson was born at Virginia Beach during a Sandbridge vacation with my family. We have been going to Sandbridge for 50 years. Now it is every other year. My 7 siblings and 90 year old parents would be devastated if we couldn't get anew oceanfront home for all of us to stay in. How would the cousins get to know each other?
