Not all event renters are insensitive to those who are all year residents of Sandbridge. We are doing an event & will certainly be respectful of the property & Sandbridge residents. If you purchase in such a location then you need to be prepared for what goes along with that decision.

We have traveled to Sandbridge yearly for 13 years with our extended family. It is a beloved gathering of families from the northeast and Carolinas. We have celebrated milestone birthdays, weddings and the birth of children while in Sandbridge. We would hope that building these family memories continues for many more years to come.

We have spent our oldest daughter's August birthday on Sandbridge Beach almost every year since 1984. It would be very sad to not be able to hold her wedding in Sandbridge where so many sweet memories were formed

For more than 25 years Sandbridge has been a destination every 4 years for my very large family for a family reunion. We have rented one home and multiple homes for the same time period in order to fit this family that grows larger by the year. In the other three years in between the "family reunion year" many separate family members travel to Sandbridge to enjoy the non commercial beach environment. Never in the last 27 years has our vacation been disrupted by a special event at a Sandbridge home. I see no reason to ban special events at Sandbridge.

As a former resident, the current locals need to realize that the tourists truly pay the bills. The taxes on tourists are extremely high and save every resident THOUSANDS per year. I now travel to VB 2-3 times a year and would gladly show my bills to prove that the local economy only flourishes from tourists. These special events can not be enough of a burden that they would be willing to allow ALL tourists to go elsewhere. I am sure MB, HH, Outer Banks, etc.. would take the money and events. Get over yourself already.

My family of 22 stayed this summer in a wonderful rental in Sandbridge. We had such a wonderful time that we will be talking about this for years. We loved the fact that the beaches were not crowded and even though there were many residents there that week the whole neighborhood was still very quiet. We will not think twice about renting again for a family reunion as everyone young and old in our family loved the area. Please don't change and not allow us back for this perfect family vacation spot.

Special events are the backbone of resorts that bring many dollars of revenue (taxes) to the area and your roads/streets need a lot of repairs!!!

Our family stays on Sandbidge Island at least once a year when visitiing our older children. It is also where we plan on retiring and two of our 5 daughters have expressed their desire to have weddings there. It would be a shame if this opportunity disappears before they are able to so.
