We LOVE Sandbridge! After coming down for 13 years, we decided to get married there. It was the best day! A good friend of mine decided to get married there last year as well. This would be awful if this passes! Spreading the word from Pittsburgh!!!

To those who are apposed to such celebrations,
You are the reason that economies decline, you are the reason that people can not take advantage of beautiful areas the state has allowed for residential communities. If you do not like being in an area where people can celebrate, you can simply sell your million dollar home and move to the middle of the Mojave where, I promise, you will be secluded and never be bothered again. I live in the OBX, where there are celebrations every day. If I didn't like the people and business that tourists brought to my area I wouldn't live there. There are thousands of miles of secluded beach in our great country. Pick a different beach and move. We have our rights to celebrate family and loved ones. There are also city codes in place to prevent ongoing and disruptive issues. Maybe those whom want this to end need to put more focus on having local law enforcement, enforce the city codes. Fix the problems first and you will be surprised.

Like any venue being used for special events, there should always be ground rules and when those rules are broken, penalties should be paid; however, to completely put a ban on usage bec of a few is not good business sense.

City Council should pass ordinances to limit size of rental units to accommodate 35-40 people max but not take away this as a family destination for fun in the sun!

This small group of people are trying to change what Sandbridge is and always has been, a place for families to reunite and enjoy time together. They are doing this for their own personal pleasure and thinking only of themselves!

My wife and I - along with 8 guests - held a small wedding ceremony on the beach in 2015. No caterers, no structures on the beach...just our guests and the beautiful backdrop that is Sandbridge.
I'm sure we are not the group that Sandbridge residents are complaining about. However, every visitor should be treating that area with respect. It truly is a "hidden gem" on the VA coast.

We have been regular visitors to Sandbridge, twice yearly for over a decade. We hope to own there someday. Recognize what the milestone events do for the local economy.
