Instead of a city ordinance banning chickens, could there be city regulations regarding the care of chickens; and it be left to neighborhoods to decide by each household voting to allow or ban chickens? It's understandable people want different things, and both would have choices with this option.

I had backyard chickens in Rosemount 10 years ago. MPLS.
and ST.PAUL have allowed 2-3 hens for years.

We have owned chickens for about 3 years. Although we live in the country, I know that chickens are quiet, stay close and don't make a mess.

I believe that if you are responsible & care for your chickens, that you should be allowed to have them in town. They are doing good for their own families and should be applauded for such. Please do not slowly take away the rights of your citizens, it's not right on any level.
