My son has been asking for chickens for months! If prior lake can allow them, our farming community should be allowed as well

Really wish I could have attended the meeting. I was hoping to show my daughters the chicken experience. A Beautiful thing. So disappointed about the chicken rule. I moved my family south to be in the farm community and now can't even have a couple of chickens. Looks like when possible will have to move into the country. Can we appeal this or give it another meeting.?

Nothing says Minnesota more than picking eggs with a grandkid, and making some Sunday breakfast!

I see no problem letting New Prague allowing home owners to have chickens. There are many benefits to chickens and a rooster is not needed to produce eggs. Council members should do the right thing and pass this ordinance as many other neighboring communities have already passed ordinances to allow chickens in their communities.

Why not let them raise chickens.?They're not messy, they don't bother anyone, they don't attack people, they produce a good product, There is no good reason not to allow people to have their chickens. Doesn't the City Council have better and more important issues to take care of than denying residents to raise their chickens?

New Prague residents should be allowed to maintain chickens. They are much less of a nuisance than barking dogs that most NP residents have!

Chickens, dogs, cats, fish,; where does it stop? Don't over govern the people!

The key word is 'responsible': fenced; manure appropriately taken care of; etc. But people should be able to raise chickens in their own back yard. You don't need a 5-acre farm outside of the town limits to raise a few chickens. If you start limiting rooster crowing, then you'll get into dog barking, leaf-blowing, or lawnmowers, (which make much more noise for a much longer period of time), etc.

Having chickens in one's yard when they are producing eggs and taking care of small insects is a benefit! The eggs they produce is but a small benefit! I strongly support citizens who choose to raise chickens!

Having a few chickens in one's backyard can hardly cause any problems. There are much bigger fish to fry then just welding your power over good people. But then again, I lived there and know how the powers that be operate. Shame on you.

Chickens do more than provide fresh eggs. They also clean up a lot of bugs, and fertilize the yard. Done properly, you end up with a great little ecosystem. Please reconsider this, Thank you
