NYC is a window into world businesses, cultures, cuisines, arts and sports. Soccer is the world’s favorite sport. Our diverse community loves soccer but has very few places to play. DUSC is one of the biggest soccer clubs in NYC serving and teaching a diverse group of youth for several decades. They are an important part of our Manhattan community. DUSC, their players and all players and fans of soccer are threatened with the loss of a significant and vital space to enjoy, participate and further develop their favorite game. Hundreds of thousands of soccer players, children of all ages, in the downtown Manhattan area need modern, safe and spacious outdoor and indoor fields without disruption.
Thank you!

It is very important to keep spaces available for the physical development of our youth. It is such a positive way to help the grow, connect, and develop into well functioning members of society. The benefits of getting outside, being part of a team, and learning the love of the game, what ever it might be, are so vital in the development of well rounded individuals. Please keep these spaces available and accessible for our city kids!

Please we need an upgrade park for the benefit community.
For example family can spend quality of time watching their kids playing sports.
This field will help everyone to do outdoor exercise like, jogging, running, etc,etc..
Very beneficial to people health.
Thanks for your consideration and have a blessed day. :-)

Do not waste this opportunity to create more desperately needed field space for NYC. It is space communities need and that will highly utilized and bring people together

My child used to go to soccer camp on Pier 40. They deserve modern amenities. The sport complex in Manhattan at Riverdale Park is much more modern.

There is a complete lack of field space downtown resulting in constant jockeying of times and locations and practice often bumping into kids’ bedtimes. Further the quality of the space needs to be improved. If you want families to stay in the city and their resultant tax revenue, kids need adequate field space for sports. Reducing or eliminating Pier 40 fields makes a bad situation even worse. Finally the quality of the fields at Pier 40 (including the indoor space and the roof deck) are reminiscent of a third world country, not a place where families pay millions for real estate and taxes among the highest if not the highest in the country.

FiDi Families supports the addition of more sports fields at Pier 40. Kids need space and NYC has a limited amount of it. Pier 40 is an incredible resource for our Lower Manhattan community. Thanks!

Both Central Park and the High Line fought back original proposals that called for a much smaller park than exists today. The City (and ultimately the developers of Pier 40) will benefit from maximizing the public and recreational space at the site. It can become one of the great outdoor spaces of New York!

Please safe the facilities at Pier 40. Our neighborhood is experiencing a lot of development and a large influx of people. You can only build commercial and residential if you also create the recreational facilities for people to enjoy.
