Support Quality Public Education through School Choice

My kids have thrived at their charter school Innovations Academy My son hated public school and was sick, stressed every single day and crying. He loves learning now. Give parents a choice.

As tax paying and law abiding citizens, we should maintain our rights to provide our children with quality educational opportunities outside of a classroom setting.

My son is thriving at his charter school; he is like a little sponge, so excited about learning. He surprises me with a new skill or factoid every day. Please let parents have options, to be able to choose a school whose instruction matches the learning style of their children. It’s becoming more apparent that there is no “one-size-fits-all” learning style.

Charter schools offer options for families. My child struggles with ADHD and we did not feel he would do well in our local public school. After researching our options we enrolled our child in Innovations Academy. He has had a wonderful year and has thrived academically and emotionally. Our community needs the options that charter schools offer.

So glad our district has Innovations Academy, where my children are happy and eager to learn. Our public schools should not be one size fits all.

Please allow families to continue to have the option to attend charter schools. We have been blessed to have our daughter attend Innovations Academy Charter School which supports our daughter's learning style and our family's needs and preferences.

School choice is critical.

Moving my kids to a charter school was the best decision I have made for my children to date in their lives. They agree with me when I say this as well. The opportunities to learn and grow emotionally and intellectually were and are not available at our other public schools. If I did not have the option to send them to Innovations Academy, it would have been such a loss. I hear parents with kids in other schools complaining continuously about the lack of care and individual focus a their public and private schools. They all complain of the lack of focus on emotional growth and self confidence. Since being in a charter school for 3 years, my boys are on track academically and even better are confident with themselves. They have learned so many life skills..including communication. They communicate through conflict better than most adults I know. They can also give a power point presentation with more clarity and confidence than most adults I work with. My youngest has found his passion in full length theatre plays. My oldest was given the freedom to have his own learning environment so his he flourishes. He was being left behind at public school. I could go on and on. Charter schools are a blessing for many families and should never be taken away.

Children should have more than one option of free public school education. Not every single child will thrive in the typical public school. Keep choices available for all kids!

Our daughter's Charter School has been an absolute blessing. She's such an engaged, creative, well-rounded student because of it.

Charter Schools are a needed addition to our school system. Our current public school system is a disgrace 48th out of 50 states?! How anyone can think it is not needed is beyond me

Pro Choice for School Education. Not having a choice is called a Monopoly. My taxes pay for education, we demand a Choice. Any politician who opposes School Choice will not receive my VOTE regardless to party affiliation.

As a professor of education and parent of a child with learning differences I am a big supporter of charter schools. My daughters were not succeeding at our neighborhood school, despite being a highly resourced school. They are now both thriving at the charter school where their academic and social emotional needs are being met. Finding this charter school was a miracle for our family. Our daughter was in a social-emotional crisis at her neighborhood school and the charter school significantly changed her educational trajectory. Our local school was not able to provide FAPE. Having the choice to look at charter schools that are uniquely designed to provide innovative and alternative learning environments has made a huge positive impact on our family.

Kids with specific learning disabilities really need choices in schools that best serve them. Charter schools have been amazing for my family
