Support Quality Public Education through School Choice

Having a choice at a Charter School, has made a good impact on both my children and their right to an education. Please don't take this choice away.

My tax money, my school choice! The USA is a country where we are free to make choices that best serve our individual needs - that includes choice of education for our children. Especially when the primary option - regular public schools - is a broken and ineffective system that views more money as the answer. Taxes for education keep increasing, yet schools keep getting worse and cries for more money is touted as the solution - it's not! Public charter schools receive less funds than regular public schools, yet they are successfully providing students - many minorities and special needs - with the education regular public schools promised but failed to deliver. Until regular public schools get fixed, no amount of money will help. And until then, I will continue to fight for my childrens' education by keeping them out of these failing schools and in a public charter school. If you force the shutdown of public charter schools, I will homeschool. But I will not be bullied into being controlled by those who refuse to accept the reality that the current regular public school system is broken and needs a major overhaul. Remember...those in public office - including public schools - are employed by "We the people..."! Instead of focusing your attention on trying to shut down public charter schools because they prove just how ineffective regular public schools are, spend time trying to figure out how to fix your house - regular public schools!! Thank you!

I get the concerns about pulling kids out of traditional public school into charters being problematic for funding. The real answer should be more charters, more magnet schools, more variety in learning options rather than less.

Save school choice

We have had a less than satisfactory school experience for our children throughout my husband’s military career. Military children already endure so many tribulations and hardships. School should not be one of them!

I'm not sure what people think is going to be solved by closing charter schools, but traditional schools are going to be over-capacity and unequipped to deal with it--not to mention that not every child will be able to get the type of attention/learning they need to thrive. Education is not and has never been one size fits all.

We are 110% for the charter system. We attend Innovations Academy in San Diego with Christen and its above and beyond and public school system we have ever attended. All the kids look happy and flourishing with delight of life and learning. Our son looks forward to go to school and wishes summer was quicker. KEEP CHARTERS SCHOOL OPEN, our future depends on it!
