They actually voted for the full twelve cents and I am sitting here staring at my computer screen in shock because I honestly did not think they would listen to us. I am so incredibly thankful for all 373 of you who hopped on this when it felt like a …
We, the undersigned, are residents of Montgomery County concerned about the potential of significant cuts to K-12 public education in our County. We have prided ourselves on the quality of our public schools in this County, and cannot afford to reduce our financial commitment to our children. We should be investing more, not less, in our County’s infrastructure and personnel. Please adopt the 12 cents tax increase to help protect our County’s schools.
We are deeply concerned that if the full 12 cents tax increase is NOT approved that there is a greater likelihood of school closings, cuts in teacher positions and special education programs. Please adopt a budget that protects ALL of our schools and ensures that NO school in the County is closed.
I just looked at the screen and saw the triple digits which is honestly wild because I really thought this might just stay between me and my neighbors. It makes me feel a bit better about the looming budget vote knowing that so many people care about stopping these cuts even if my coffee is probably cold now (again).

12 cents is nothing compared to the cost of losing our schools. do the right thing and pay up for the kids.

If u cut these programs now you are just gonna cause way more problems for the county down the road. keep the schools fully funded.
