Support Pink House Variances

Please, BZA members reconsider this plan and give it your stamp of approval.

Save the Pink House!!! This is Homewood’s history & should be Homewood’s future!!!

I agree with the variances.

As an artist, I understand the historical, cultural and architectural significance of the Bridges' Pink House. As a resident of Homewood I see the preservation of this property as an unique gem of creative legacy that shines brightly in Alabama – or could. The City of Homewood should make an allowance for the variances required because of the unusual circumstances that stand in the way of the Mobley's providing for their family's future and protecting the history of Homewood. Without the immediate intervention of the COH, the Pink House will likely face an unfortunate end as the structure languishes and deteriorates. Mayor & City Council – save the Pink House.

This house must be saved! Please issue the variances. The Mobley's have already spent a ton of money & jumped through every hoop placed before them. The pool, nor the addition, will barely be visible. If their neighbor's don't have a problem with it, the variances should be approved!!

I support the Mobley family in their efforts to save the Pink House & gardens! This home is on a corner lot with no official ‘rear’ yard, so I completely understand why they wish to place a pool in the location as they’ve proposed. To place it elsewhere would disrupt the gardens and mature trees. The placement of the pool as proposed allows for maximum visibility (thinking safety here) from the original home and the new structure....Because of the unique, historic nature of the Pink House, and because the Mobley family is willing and able to preserve and protect this home, I believe it is incredibly short sighted to not work with them on this issue!! They want a pool. There is no rear yard. The placement of the pool as they have proposed makes THE MOST SENSE for what they are trying to do to both save the home and gardens AND make it livable for their growing family.

Give them the variance. They should be able to do what they want on their property.

I live at 1711 Ridge Road and walk/jog by the pink house often. This family has tried very hard to conform to Homewood’s ordinances and I believe their plan should be approved.

Please, please do the best thing for edgewood and this historic home and reverse your decision

Please save The Pink House!

I grew up in Homewood and my grandparents lived around the corner from the pink house. As a little girl, my sister and I would go on walks just to try to get a peek at how magical it was. I was so relieved to see a couple had the means to SAVE it!! Homewood was so lucky to have someone who could save it. Don’t throw that opportunity away.

This house is a treasure to Homewood. I love the owners’ plan—creative solution to the problem. Please allow them to follow through with their plans!

Please consider the variances being requested. This landmark is and will be important in the future of Birmingham, let’s keep the magic in The Magic City.

Our property is one of only two homes that touch the Pink House property and this is an absolutely devastating blow to our neighborhood.
