If we can afford to spend hundreds of dollars on sports programs, fields and such, we can afford to take care of our greatest asset, our teachers. If parents are committed to getting the kids back to school, I think they should be willing to sacrifice sports, that have no outcome on our kids education, and focus on why they are in school to begin with. Oh, and if you are doing a drive by in cars marked with messages for the teachers to read, you might want to think about the price tag on the car you are driving....It really looks silly.

Teaching is a profession. One of the most important profession. No one alone can teach these children all that they learn in school. I don't care what any parents say, you can't. And how can you expect children to value and care about school when their parents and community don't support their teachers who run the buildings. Not the way to be in order to instill the importance of learning and being education - as it is the path to success.

How unfortunate that we have one of the most influential jobs, but are continuously degraded and thought "unworthy" of our compensation.

Living in this district for 20 years, I have seen first hand the caliber of the teachers, parents, administration, and support staff that this District is blessed with. I believe that the majority of all of those people do not believe this strike is the answer to solve anything. Someone (or more likely, a group of someones, from all parties), needs to be brave enough to stand-up and say, "Enough". The Union tactics that worked in the 1930's and 1940's, with uneducated employees are not necessary now. We all deserve better. I know and love many teachers - some family, some friends. I know this is hard. Please - Fix it for the kids.

Why is the public mad at the teachers and want them to give in? Put your anger towards the board and tell them to give in! There are 2 sides to every story, unfortunately the media and email blasts are only showing one side....the school board's side, purposely creating anger towards the teachers!

What part of "This petition is both for residents of Peters Township and parents of children that attend Peters Township schools." do MOST of these people signing NOT understand? And shame on those non-resident teachers that are signing! That truly shows a lot about their honesty and integrity! God help our kids. Obviously, this is another desperate attempt by the Union, using deceitful tactics, to drum up support.

Teachers are dedicated, hardworking individuals who truly care about children's needs and are often not being heard by administration and school boards. Keep your voices loud so you will be heard! I fully support your cause!
