The demonizing of the teaching profession has lead to a decrease of new teachers entering the field. Most first year teachers choose NOT to return for a second year. These are statistics that can not be denied. Why deny your dedicated employees working conditions that show you value them and their clearly outstanding contributions to your district.

Peters Township teachers are excellent, hardworking, highly qualified and dedicated individuals. They have been wonderful influences to my children. They deserve a fair contract, NOT the current offer from the District, which is, in effect, a pay cut, with a longer work day and year. And that offer is after 19 sessions - what did the District originally offer, that this one represents negotiated progress??

Mrs. Hareza, Mrs. Riberich, Mrs. Stark and Mr. Keffel are only a few of the AMAZING teacher's we have gotten to know! We support them; their love for teaching, their passion for educating the minds of young people and their needs as well as the other teacher's needs to have a fair and equitable contract 100% We are blessed to know them.

Teachers are one of the most underpaid professions. Go to a factory or ANY workplace and tell the employees they need to put in more hours and by the way...you don't get paid for it. Those employees would walk out. Stay strong teachers!

I have no shame in waiting tables and working 7 days a week. After working in the district for 15.5 years, I do take shame in my honest response to PT families that I wait on, "Because I have to." I knew what the profession held in terms of salaries, and I knew I'd have a rough road until I finally reached the "bump" step after 17 years, so I do not complain, but I do believe that we should earn a fair raise for year after year of RESULTS. Something fair to the phenomenal teachers, students in crammed classes, and taxpayers is very doable. I am proud to stand by my award winning colleagues in solidarity. I respect opposing opinions, but when the profession is bashed, you look like an idiot. Get a piece of paper and put "teacher" in the center of lined paper. Go ahead and list professions more important to society above and those you deem less important below. We're not asking for the sun and the moon, simply fair. Show good character through this process. Isn't that suppose to be a cornerstone of our community?

The teachers of Peters Township School District deserve to be fairly compensated for the excellent work that they do for our children. How many of the parents who do not support the teachers actually moved into Peters Township because of the quality of the education that is provided by our teachers.
