As a former teacher at PTMS, I must say that I feel honored to have worked with some of the smartest, most caring, and dedicated teachers in my teaching career. There is a reason why the kids love the middle school and why their achievement ranks as one of the highest in the state. It's the teachers! As parents of 3 children, we chose to move to Peters Township because of the schools. The education they received here at PT prepared them well for college and beyond - they are all doctors in their fields. I realize that it takes a village, but their teachers played a big roll in their success. Our teachers deserve a fair contract, not insults. Let's settle and get everyone back to school!

Our teachers are one of our most valuable assets. They are underpaid, over worked and definitely under appreciated! They spend more time with some of their students than many of the parents do! And don't forget; A highly rated school system goes hand in hand with high property values!!!!

I wish you all the best! You all devote your days & nights even weekends to thoughts & plans to provide your students with your very best. You stress over their health & well being. Not many jobs can say they care for as many lives as you! I stand behind and beside you throughout this process! Best of luck!

Being intransigent on issues is not negotiating in good faith. Forcing the professional staff to regress economically is not negotiating in good faith.

As a professional firefighter....I think running into a burning building is easier than teaching children of today.

Many of us moved to Peters for the quality education our district provides. I would like that to continue. Our teachers deserve a fair and equitable contract. I firmly believe both sides need to come to the table and meet somewhere in the middle.

When I see township members comparing our profession to a job in the private sector, I cannot help but wonder which private sector jobs are training their employees to take a bullet from a gunman to protect someone else's child. I don't hear on the news of accountants and bankers and entrepreneurs dying each year protecting kids. No, it is teachers who willingly and selflessly do this.

"A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drive ... But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child"
Thank you to the Peters Township Teachers! Thank you for teaching, loving, inspiring, nurturing, supporting, challenging, and providing an amazing education to our children! We hope and pray that others' will soon recognize that you are merely asking for what is necessary and right.

I understand that everyone has the right to their own opinion, but for those of you making negative comments, I was always taught that until I walk a mile in someone else's shoes I have no right to judge them. We are not "losers", "bums" or "greedy". We are just normal people like you, trying to make a living doing what we were called to do. We are not asking for anything more than what is fair.
I want to thank the MANY people who are supporting us in so many ways. Most importantly, thank you for treating us with respect. You have been a bright light in this process.
