As a person who works with those who have survived an ABI, this funding source is greatly needed. The ABI community is greatly forgotten in regard to support within the brain injurt community.

I am a recipient of the TBI fund. I was given tools and an excellent teacher on behalf of this fund. I have learned more in the past three years than in the past fifteen years because of this. It has given me more independence and challenges at the same time. These tools are my lifeline and I am very grateful. But as a recipient, there are a lot of obstacles and poor navigation as to find the proper resources. There is a lot of room for improvement. The funds awarded to me should be transparent. I should be able to have a say whether or not my teacher is worth $175.00 an hour or not! This is going threw my kitty very quickly. I would love to work with the senators to improve this foundation, there is a great need for improvement, and in doing so it will allow people like me to have resources to navigate to the proper channels easily. Saving the State money that could be used for the individuals that really need it!

I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury while working as a store manager in 2019. I have suffered at the hands of workers compensation greatly! New Laws need to be passed to fix a broken system that does not benefit those who suffer.
