WHAT IS THE REASON???? We have gotten MORE information from this one man than all others before him. He has been doing a fine job and bringing our community together at the same time!!! GO MONTOYA!!!!!

The Police Chief in Hallsville has been the pillar of the community since he first held that position. He has gone above and beyond any other city official to stay involved with the community, organize fundraisers, report on bad weather situations, follow behind the cross-country runners when it was too early for the sun to be up, lead a surpise event for Noah Walton, our little hero who is fighting cancer, and much, MUCH more, from buying lemonade from kid's lemonade stands, being involved with the football games and school and the list could go on and on and on. What has happened to Paul Montoya, may or may not be stemming from one occurrence, but we all have done things we are not proud of. This man, regardless of the mistakes he has made, has made THE COMMUNITY a better place!! He's the heart of our town...he brings fun, adventure, safety and care to a good ole small town. Growing up in Hallsville, the community has NEVER rallied together or been so involved in so many things. Losing him, either by his choice or the choice of others, is a big mistake. He has my support 110%.

No police chief had ever brought the hallsville community this close, he does amazing things for the community weather it be alerting people about flooded roads or getting out in the pouring rain and moving a log off the road .

My roots run deep in Hallsville. My Great-Great Grandparents set up here many, many years ago and every generation has stayed in Hallsville because we love this town. I absolutely do not agree with the decision to relieve Chief Montoya of his position. He exemplifies what small town communities strive for. He is involved, accessible, approachable, and keeps the citizens informed in times of need. (Flooding, road closures, etc.) I do not agree with the decision that our "representatives" made behind closed doors. They absolutely do not represent my stance on the issue. I am so disappointed...

I appreciate a chief of police that is passionate about his community. As the mayor said "these are fine men trying to do the best for their community". If you have "fine men" in place, then work it out. Listen to the people of your community and look for a unified decision that keeps the city, the school district and the children in the forefront.

I can't believe that a man who has done so much for our community would be treated like this. If there is a legitimate issue they should come out and tell the public, but right now it appears some people got their egos hurt and want to take it out on Paul. Grow up. Paul has done too much for our community and is always there for anyone who needs help.

To the Mayor and City Council....you need to rethink your decision.. read all these comments, elections will be coming up soon...This decision you have made is a BIG mistake on your part...Since my friend Clay Medrano was there, Chief Montoya is the best thing that has happened to Hallsville..
