The student-led conferences were very disappointing. Parent-teacher conferences are the one time a year when I can meet with my child's teachers and get face to face feedback on how they are doing in school. It's also a time I could be responding with questions and offer my own feedback. During the student-led conference I only received my child's reflection on her performance, while valuable, not the only information I am looking for at this time of year. I left the conference feeling this could have been done at home as I received nothing from the teachers.

I receive great insight from the quick one on one meeting - whether my child is mastering or struggling in a class. It would be impractical to try to schedule this myself. We need a personal connection between parents and teachers!

I would like to keep parent/teacher conferences in district 205 schools. The conferences are so important for parents to get a full report on their child's academic progress. I would even prefer the conferences were twice a year in order to get a better idea of a child's growth over the whole school year.

When I was in middle school, knowing that my parents were going to talk to my teachers was a big motivator to keep my attitude and grades up. Keep the parent teacher conferences in all 205 schools!

We need to hear from teachers regarding student progress, achievements and areas needing attention. Students can't be objective and are not trained to evaluated educational milestones!

The opportunity to meet a teacher one-on-one is important for parents. Please bring back parent-teacher conferences.

Even though they are short at the middle and HS level, the PT conferences give us a chance to spend some time with the very important people our kids spend time with every day, to learn about their impressions of our students and their abilities, to come away with a few tips for improvement, and to open the door for more active communication if needed. And it puts a human face to the "parent" for the teacher, and vice versa. We shouldn't give up this important step in our processes. Paired with Curriculum Night, PT conferences build a stronger bond between parents and teachers in the development of our children.

Please continue parent teacher conferences. I have a 7th grader now and another 4th grader joining Sandburg in 2 years. Please continue the conferences to show that the school cares about the relationship with the parents. Thanks.
