I know what my students is doing at school. I know her grades. I want to hear from the teachers about her interaction, her leadership capabilities, what the like or dislike about her. Personal interaction with the teacher.

Parent teacher conferences are very worthwhile

I fully support parent teacher conferences. It is critical to have this private one on one with my child's teacher. I urge you to reconsider the notion of doing away with this valuable time with our teachers. Thank you.

I don't understand why it has to be one or the other? It seems to me there's value in having parent-teacher conferences with the student's perspective incorporated.

Parent teacher conferences are instrumental in allowing parents to have input and be apart of their child's education. This also gives us parents a look at the curriculum and what is happening in thr classroom. For a principal to discontinue this without consulting parents is wrong. This should be an open discussion concerning this.

Honest conversations without the student present are important. Parents should share teacher insights with their student while reinforcing good behaviors and coach for improvements. Parents should inspect what they expect

Parent-teacher communication is critical to a child's educational success. Conferences are one of the few, if not the only channel, that facilitates this. Please reinstate parent-teacher conferences.

I agree that student-led conferences should not be a substitute for parent-teacher conferences

My youngest will be attending Churchville next year and I do jot want to see this there.

The parent and teacher face to face interaction is very important early in the school year.

We support parents having a choice between a student led or parent teacher conference.

Conferences are a great way to have that face to face connection with your child's teacher. It can be the start of a more personal partnership. If you don't have this touch point, you're missing out and so is the teacher. Thankfully, my daughter (8th) has all of the same teachers this year that my son had last year. Our family already established relationships with those teachers, so we had a place to start. We also did not participate in the student lead conferences as I didn't see the point. Our child shares what is going on with her school experience and it didn't make sense for us to hear from her at the school with a gym teacher when we could discuss everything at our own home. It's disappointing to not have these conferences. I would like them reinstated next year and also because I have an incoming sixth grader. Thank you, Jill Thackery

I want to keep the parent-teacher conferences.

As a teacher and parent, my belief is, and research supports the fact that students and schools are more successful when teacher, parent and student communicate well and often. Conferences should never be cancelled if parents want to speak with teachers. They should do both- it's a no-brainer.

I appreciate the thought behind engaging students more in helping present their accomplishments, but it is absolutely crucial to preserve opportunities for parents to engage directly with teachers.

Parent teacher conferences are important. Please re-instate conferences and keep them for all grades.

I will not attend a student led conference again I already know where and when my child does his homework I received no info on how he was performing or the expectations because i did not speak with the teachers While I agree that students should take ownership of their learning the format of this was worthless
