This was bought and paid for by the people of Stroud so i cannot see how the council have the right to sell it off?

This building is a poignant building for the Styx of Stroud wassail and would be a massive shame to the Morris community to stop them using it for future events - Morris dancer from leicester

We have often travelled from out of the area to visit Stroud, and on each visit the Subscription Rooms has been in the list for a coffee, dance, show, or other event, or even just for refreshment. It's irreplaceable in our view. Losing what it provides will be one more reason not to visit the town.

This venue has provided me with many great nights of entertainment as well as valuable work experience in events over the last 18 years. It would be a shame to see it close.

I was in Stroud for Styx of Stroud day of dance, and these rooms were a focus for the general public, as well as the masses taking part that day
