The Sub Rooms is very much at the heart of the community in Stroud. It offers a variety of classes and events for people of all ages and from every walk of life. People come from throughout the county, and beyond, so it helps to boost footfall in the town, with all the positive ripple effects on the local economy.

The Beatles played at the Subs in the 60's. Thousands of musicians regard this as a great venue, including Hattie Briggs who plays at the Subs twice a year. The workshops, courses and dance groups are thriving - and need to be able to keep doing so!

One of the oldest buildings in Stroud and certainly its best known. Brunel met there with town leaders when planning Great Western Railway's passage through Stroud. To see the Subscription Rooms sold off would be a disaster.

It would be like selling off the family silver, to paraphrase Sir Harold Macmillan. It is an asset for the people of the whole area, and should be preserved in public ownership.

As a teenager I use to go to the
sub rooms, this is an essential part of Stroud. Save the sub rooms for the next generation.

Book the right entertainment and the subs will make a profit .Hawkwind sold out when the tickets went on sale in February and the concert is not until May The Saw Doctors sold out with a return ticket queue nearly as long as the queue of patrons with tickets .
Twitches is a great place for a coffee etc but lacks customers as many people are not aware it exists.
Don't take away from Stroud what if organised correctly could be a profitable music venue and cafe

The Beatles played the sub rooms twice at the very start of their career, and it's got to be kept going, it's the main focus of Stroud, I've seen John Hegley and Richard Dawkins there, it's such a great a diverse venue.

This handsome building was always intended to be a publicly owned venue for Stroud, the community would be so much poorer without it.

Keep the sub-rooms under Council ownership and get a management team in to get the best out of the building. Adding to the existing events, hiring to corporate ... weddings etc.. It's a great building and should remain as the Heart of the Town.

The sub rooms are the hub of Strouds arts scene. Keeping them open to all is essential as the gov reduce the arts in its national curriculum. We can't lose this amazing venue.

The recent Public Consultation was very biased against public ownership and looked like a stitch up.
