The Drew University a cappella groups struggle each semester, fundraising to compensate for lack of sufficient financial support. The Student Government Budget Board is required to deny "selective clubs" budgetary access; however, the nature of performance groups requires that we have vocally-trained members to uphold our standards as musical groups.
While we recognize and respect the position that selective clubs cannot receive "budgets" per se, we are presenting our position to the Budget Board to explain why we need and deserve some form of financial support!!
If YOU support the idea of performance groups receiving financial support from the University (just like every other club does!!) PLEASE sign our petition so that we can show how much support Drew a cappella has from our community! This will really benefit our growth and outreach as performance groups, as well as ease our fundraising burden so that our members can dedicate more time to balancing academics, work, and our shared passion for music. Thank you everyone!!

I AM CURRENTLY PREPARING OUR FORMAL PRESENTATION FOR THE BUDGET BOARD TO SHOW THEM EXACTLY HOW MUCH THIS COMMUNITY VALUES OUR TALENTED MUSICIANS!! THE ENERGY AROUND THIS CAUSE IS ABSOLUTELY ELECTRIC AND I HAVE BEEN READING EVERY SINGLE COMMENT YOU ALL HAVE LEFT FOR US!!

As a parent of a dedicated music student I would like to think that the University supports music students to the same extent that they support other majors!
Acapella groups rehearsals, along with performances , take a significant amount of talent, time and dedication. Acapella enhances the Drew community with talent and performances. It would benefit many in the Drew community to provide financial support.
In a little over a year I have experienced the amazing energy and musical talent the a cappella groups bring to Drew and the surrounding community and represent the university in all of their travels in such a positive way. Their ability to showcase Drew and promote it wherever they go is a huge asset for the school.
Although I do not participate in A cappella, I very much enjoy attending the concerts! I have a lot of friends who are in the A cappella groups on campus, and would hate to see them unable to continue doing something they love because of low funding. We have very talented students at Drew, and they should be able to show it off! Good luck guys!
Drew University's a cappella groups continually bring the student body together to enjoy the vocal talent Drew fosters. Supporting all-inclusive clubs is worthwhile, but the Student Government Budget Board is doing the student body a dishonor by not funding our a cappella groups.
Drew a cappella is one of my favorite parts about the Drew Community. I give them all of my support.
These girls work very hard as performers and they have created a great social club!

Drew a capella is one of the best parts about Drew, and given that university stresses the performing arts so much, they should definitely get all the funding they need!
