Wheelie bins do not fit in most houses in the area, will attract foxes and will look and smell bad. This is dumb idea that has not been put to the people of Merton.

I think it is unhygienic to have to keep your waste on you property. One of the reasons I don't vote Labour

our front garden is just too small to accommodate all these giant bins

The collection arrangements etc that we have now work why change them to make the streets look even more untidy than they do with rubbish bins everywhere and subject us to stinking rubbish particularly in the hot weather by reducing the collections.

I have always thought Merton has been lacking in recycling. Getting rid of collections seems like just cost cutting.
Employee more staff, more collections and manage efficiently. Be truly environmentally and a good employee.

It's the 'users' that matter not the 'producers'. The users were never consulted as far as I am aware

I don’t agree with this bins because I don’t have space to keep them. I live in ground floor and have neighbor on first floor which means he keeps all his rubbish in front of my windows. When you put this big bind there my windows will be covered and all the smell will be getting to my house. What is wrong with present system? Merton council should spend money on cleaning properly out streets not changing bins!

We have a baby and im very concerned that bins will stink from nappies. We do use nappy bags, but it still stinks after a few days, so 2 weeks would be a disaster

I fundamentally disagree with this decision. In terraced houses these bins will be a terrible eyesore

Yes to weekly collection and no to unsightly bins, it's bad enough with weekly collection in place!! How much more cutbacks is Merton going for? Remember we pay our council taxes on time - what is it being used for????

Fortnightly collections just wont work. In the heat that we’ve just had over the past couple of months I can only imagine the stench and maggots. Gross!
