It is totally unreasonable to think that a family can keep domestic refuse for 2 weeks - particularly in the warmer season it will cause pestilence. And there is no space to accommodate those wheelie bins, neither I am able to lift them to move them around steps. Continue with the weekly collections and issue penalties for those who litters. Don't neglect to have the pavements swept more regularly, rather than imposing wheelie bins.

We need weekly collections of all refuse, recently we had to wait for 2 weeks for compostable rubbish to be collected, this is a particular problem during warmer weather. The new bins take up too much space and are difficult to use for the elderly.

The bins are not large enough for a family of 5 to keep rubbish for 2 weeks. It is not feasible nor hygienic.

Add disposal of existing bins to cost.

the space for these bins does not exist - they will ruin the aesthetics of our neighbourhoods

I fully support the weekly collection of waste including rubbish. Now a days the service is bad as it is, imagine when it becomes every other week!

There is no space for the large wheelie bins. In areas like mine (South Park gardens). The pavements will end up looking like a rubbish dump. It’s a ridiculous idea. Keep the weekly bin collections!

This is really the "thin end of the wedge" that can only lead to yet further reductions in this essential and fundamental service.

I don't need 2 ugly wheelie bins outside my front door. I can manage my household waste without difficulty. It's fly tippers and litter that needs to be tackled.

Is such a shame that Merton council think this is a good idea to collect the rubbish fortnight, when we already struggling to contain the rubbish in our streets. Foxes, vermins in general have taken over the night by feasting and spreading germs and dirt everywhere. We have only a lovely guy that is doing his best to sweep all the mess during the day . Our taxes are not being spent the way they should I am afraid. More structure and consistency will work wonders.

Merton is looking shabby as it is! With th forthright rubbish collection it will be worse! We pay enough in council tax to expect better service than this!

We do not have space in our very small front gardens for big ugly wheely bins! We do not want to be seeing wheely bins when looking out from our living rooms. I feel the council is being spiteful for going ahead with getting us to do their recycling!!

In a city,in flats. This means 10 wheelie bins 12 re-cycling boxes, neighbours fighting each other. Losing the will to leave. Power without responsibility.

Completely unacceptable. Our bins and recycling boxes are already always full after 1 week. Where does the second week's rubbish go? How about I dump it in the road for the council the clean up - oh I forgot they don't clean the roads either. Where is our money going?

I do not want two large unsightly bins outside my front room window which is the only place they can go. Also, they will be difficult to move on my own.

It takes longer time and more people to empty a wheelie bin than pick up a plastic bin bag; so where is the cost saving? Also, smaller size wheelie bins should be available for single occupancy dwellings.
