A complete waste of tax payers' money and destruction of a beautiful Borough.

We have had many missed collections. Imagine this happens with what they propose we will have months worth of refuse build up. When the rats increase in number the pied piper will not come cheap. A rather short sighted idea!!

I don’t want my property and the road spoilt by the imposition of hundred of plastic containers

The proposed changes will affect us with a lack of storage space. Also, cans & plastics being collected fortnightly in the old bins mean I will have to put cans & plastic into landfill as not sufficient room.

The bins wont be big enough to hold 2 weeks worth of rubbish. I recycle everything I am able to. The streets will be awash with rubbish.

Horrified about the proposal to change our weekly bin collection to fortnightly. Bins will overflow and foxes will cause so much mess in the streets. Ridiculous idea.

I am a single person household. This scheme is excessive, costly and takes no account of usage and size of household.

Labour Council spends money as if it was water. It is our money and we protest against spending it brainlessly. Continue to have a weekly rubbish collection. Out with the expensive wheelie bins.

We must keep our regular collection NO WHEELIE BINS

I fail to understand how this initiative will achieve the objective of increasing recycling in the borough. Especially as it starts with a huge amount of waste being produced in the form of rendering resident’s perfectly adequate standard bins obsolete. The effect on the street scene of large wheelie bins stored in the front of properties in many areas will be hugely detrimental. I also do not believe that this initiative was properly consulted on. I had to search for a link to find the consultation when it was out. Why did the council not produce a letter drop asking for views when they were considering implementing this scheme?? Only when it’s a done deal. I suspect they know they are wrong on this issue.

We do not have enough space to store more than week's rubbish in our flat. We are just about managing now! Keep the weekly collection!

We live in small terrace houses with limited space in our front garden. This change will mean that a large proportion of it is taken up with unsightly bins. A greater proportion than we have now. In addition we have three children 2 of which are still in nappies. Fortnightly bin collection is not appropriate for families with babies and toddlers. Its ridiculous. Keep the weekly collection going please.

Weekly collection is an absolute must.

Apart from the considerable cost involved, filling up much of the visible space in Merton with enormous numbers of wheelie bins and complicating the collections schedule will have a hugely negative effect for residents.

I am absolutely disgusted by this change, it should not be allowed to happen and for someone to actually thinks this is a good idea is beyond me.

Not only is biweekly collection impractical, especially during a heat wave, but the new bins will clutter up the borough.

Leaving out bins in this weather will mean they are full of maggots by the time they are collected.

Fortnightly collections are ridiculous and not cost effective. Who wants 4 bins sitting at the front of thier property. Not me for one.
