physically, once the wheelie bins are in the front there will no longer be a front garden. as i'm an oap invalid, i have to rely on my wife to drag the bins through the house and she, too, is not strong. why can't the conservatives take the council to court ,as did mr. kholer and reverse the decision with regard to the forthnightly bin collection.

There is already fly tipping in the borough which will only get worse. Large bins are not practical for everyone, and weekly collections are the best way to deal with the boroughs rubbish

I think we should retain weekly rubbish collections. - it's tidier & cleaner & more hygienic, more conducive to a healthy environment.

There are plenty of things to be unhappy about including this. I do not want fortnightly collections. Are residents going to be paying the refuse collectors retainers on the weeks they don’t work or are some losing valuable jobs? Whichever it is I don’t approve

We do not want large wheelie bins in our gardens we do not have room for them. Refuse should be collected weekly

Our local Council are massively letting us down - clearly NO-ONE wants these 2 new wheelie bins per household (other parts of London where terraced houses have no space at the front for them are just left on the pavement and all you see is rows and rows of wheelie bins as you walk down the road - makes the neighbourhoods look like some kind of slum!). We are all happy with the existing arrangement and the WEEKLY collection. If it ain't broke … don't fix it! Who on earth at Merton Council came up with this idea in the first place … hello??!!

Far too many bins to house if the new operative comes in force especially where a house is split into two flats.

However Labour want to dress it up, these ridiculous bins are a reduction in service. Why then is there no reduction in Council Tax?
This many bins on a property are an eyesore. I already pay extra for a green waste bin, so I will have three of the damn things. Perhaps the idiots who dreamed this up have the space in their large properties, or a convenient space out of sight - most Mitcham residents do not!
How about spending money on a reliable weekly rubbish collection and dump this compulsory bin nonsense.

Rubbish will become smelly and as well as being unsightly I am not sure the two big bin will fit in my front garden

Clearly not thought this through, the whole borough will look terrible with these wheelie bins blocking up the pavements! No where else for them to be stored!

Yet another misery this council will inflict upon us, the residents, who seem to have to put up with everything that’s thrown at us. We don’t want 2 weekly collections!

I live in a mid terrace house as does my neighbour. Our front gardens are planted with shrubs and flowers so we are unable to store ugly wheelie bins. It worries me if the council insist I have to have these bins. I have no space to put them.
