Hideous grey bins made even more hideous by (totally unnecessarily) branding them with 4 borough logos! (don't even need one borough logo - it's bad design even on its own!) As if that wasn't enough collections every alternate week mean twice as many bins everywhere - many in places that have no space to place them, which makes them even more unsightly as they stand on the street. Alternate weekly collections also means more stink. Merton Council should be thoroughly ashamed of their total lack of taste and ineptitude in not properly thinking this through. They have turned our lovely borough into unsightly 'Binbledon'. They don’t care. They won’t be held accountable. They can’t be sacked for incompetence and wasting our money. They are the last bastion of ‘a job for life’. Regardless of performance.

2 weekly refuse collection not working. Recycle boxes for glass and plastics not large enough and we are throwing away more that could be recycled, as a results. Big wheelie bins are an imposition and take up so much space at our property (my property is now the councils storage place) and rubbish collection every 2 weeks could become a health hazard if not properly managed all adding extra cost to councils and ultimately will result in higher fees. Please put a stop to this ridiculous change!

A poorly conceived idea that is being driven through against residents wishes using spurious cost savings as an excuse.

....but will the new bins be removed as they make the whole place even more slummy along with all the gardens having been demolished for car parking!

The rubbish is already getting worse in the streets with overflowing green recycling crates having rubbish blow out of them. There should be an option of smaller bins for those that do not use much and would look better behind walls.

Two weeks collection for non recyclable rubbish is not right also the bin supplied for it is small ( we are 5 adults in the house),I requested larger one and no response from The council( Merton) so far

These horrid wheelie bins have changed the whole image of Merton. There was nothing wrong with our black bins collected weekly.

Bins unnecessarily big, an absolute eyesore.

Bins too big. Home owners need to now adapt their gardens to accommodate the councils needs. What are we paying this useless council for? No more recycling from me.

The council enforced bins are an absolute eyesore across the streets of the borough. The gigantic bins are not practical for the small front gardens of the majority of properties. The 2 week collections are effectively saving the council having to store the rubbish. Merton Council ought to follow the example of Wandsworth Council.

Streets are a mess. Bins too large and heavy. Disgusting not having weekly collection.

We object to fortnightly bin collections and want them to recommence on a weekly basis.

I have no problems if the council genuinely do save money by fortnightly collections. What I object to is their brick wall attitude to getting the new bins which we still have not received. Even offered to go get them but obtuse, obstinate and unhelpful all the way.

Hate these wheelie bins b/c now we have unsightly bins cluttering front garden and Merton Council do not want to listen - they will not be getting my vote!
