Two households share one tiny front garden in our road so we will be overwhelmed with ugly bins and will have to cut down our shrubs to accommodate them. We live between a pub and a bus stop so people will dump unpleasant things in our bins when we leave them out on the pavement on the night before collection day

I understand that the wheelie bin allocated for non recyclable waste is only large enough to hold two black sacks, which I will have to keep for two weeks, this is outrageous as it will not be large enough as I currently recycle everything that we as a family can, and I still have two black sacks per week. If we must have these disgusting looking bins at least collect them weekly.

I totally object to the end of weekly rubbish collections and being forced to store rubbish on my property when we have such a problem with urban foxes.

We need a weekly collection of rubbish. We do not need a weekly collection of clothes

A real health problem just waiting to happen. We are already plagued with rats from the rail way lines , including foxes tearing up the bins and now they want to have more rubbish sitting about for two weeks. Totally unacceptable

They don't seem to be able to collect mine as it. Because it's not in the Wright place. We have little room for the rubbish as it. So don't know how we are going to put all that our. we only have 1/4 full black sack a week because I do recycle most thinghs as well as a compost for the garden. I will not need a wheelie bin just for that.

Part from the smell problem, the wheelie bins will look terrible on the streets as well as difficult for some folks to move. I also do not have any faith in LBM using any of the so called savings going to other budgets in the Borough. Keep our streets clean and homes looking as they should do with wheelie bins in front of them. I feel so strongly on this subject I would vote for the next candidates if whatever party that would go back to weekly collections.

Couple of years ago the council in Bristol introduced large wheelie bins in an area not dissimilar to Wimledon Park. The pavements became like an obstacle course, older people couldn't physically move them back into their properties, wheelchair and pushchair users found it difficult to navigate through, and the streets quickly looked awful. After a year or two the council had to abandon the 'new' system in that area and return to the old one, which had worked for years. Wheelie bins in Wimbledon Park area is a rubbish idea, pun intended.

We are elderly people with a 30 metre drive. Taking larger bins out will be virtually impossible without assistance.

The argument for weekly rubbish collection is weak and rubbish. And now, as the petition shows, the costing is also not done well. Save money on some other cost heads. This affects us daily, weekly, fortnightly and monthly. Don’t tinker with the weekly rubbish collection policy.

Our Council Tax is very high compared to other boroughs. We deserve a weekly collection

No where to put these bins except on my flower bed.

We sort out our clothes once a year and yet the council is planning to pick up our discarded clothes weekly rather than our actual rubbish. For a family of 5 this will be a disaster. Foxes will have a wail of a time. We bought 3 wheelie bins and have been using them for years and the council is going to replace them with 1 bin and has told us to chuck ours. What a waste of money. Is Merton going to compensate us for our 2 extra bins. This is a bonkers policy. I can only assume there is money to be made in recycling clothes and batteries and the council is more interested in this than in its responsibilities to its gigantic council tax paying residents. If I have infestations of any kind I will be sending the bill to Merton Council.

I've lived here 31 years. Terraced house. Had to adapt front in order to store the current bins and food caddy. There is no room for wheelie bins. Collection must remain ONCE A WEEK to keep homes/streets free of rubbish. As it is, many homes, particularly rental units are already spilling onto the pavement with a once a week pick up. Every other week will make the borough even more messy than it is.

Not every household can accommodated 2 wheelie bins and a further one or two recycling boxes plus a green waste wheelie bin if they belong to the scheme without leaving all the bins st the front of the property which will Look very unsightly. Just take a look at Sutton Borough to show just how quickly an area can look unkept. Merton fo a great job presently with weekly collections so why the change ?

We have a small two bedrooms house in the Lambton Conservation area and have no room and no use for big wheelie bins.

Why change a system that works! Wheelie bins are too big for most properties in London. Storing recycling is hard now, with a weekly collection, so how are we to store for 2 weeks at a time!

Weekly rubbish collections and street cleaning are essential to get this borough clean again.
