Live in Pollards Hill, already subjected to litter strewn streets. Let’s address this first, before reducing waste collection.

Merton has developed a major rubbish problem both in terms of dirty streets, fly-tipping and with excess rubbish produced by residential properties. The council should be looking at increasing the frequency of rubbish collection and street cleaning, madness to reduce it to less than once a week.

In total ageement with all the comments made so far.
The councils proposals are a no brainer. They will hit the vulnerable the hardest and invite vandalism.

I am completely against this and do not feel we have been consulted as residents of Mucky Merton

As a single person household I generate very little rubbish or recycling materials yet the council insists on giving me 2 new giant wheelie bins in addition to the current box and food caddy. I already have 1 large bin for garden waste and cannot see how I can manage to move 3 bins, box and caddy around in the limited space available.

It doesn't need changing. Wheelie bins outside every home is unsightly.

This scheme is a complete waste of money. Buying Wheelie bins for the whole borough is an unnecessary investment. The council will have an ongoing cost as bins are lost or stolen and residents will demand that they are replaced. I cannot see how this is a positive scheme.

As the owners of a terraced house with a small front garden we have nowhere to store these monstrous ugly bins. I am against the imposition of wheelie bins on Merton residents by the Labour controlled Council.

I strongly oppose the proposed reduction in the bin collections. I work across 2 neighbouring boroughs who have done this and the mess from uncollected waste has a detrimental effect on the streets to say nothing of the unsightly bins that in the main are left outside the properties as there is not enough space to store these

Totally unnecessary and futile expenditure. No wonder they want to charge The Little League

I'm currently in France where bins are collected each day. To have bin collections every two weeks is just crazy.
Not to mention the eyesore a wheelie bin will be outside or beautiful Edwardian houses.
Shame!

The current system works well. Where am I supposed to put wheelie bins, and what a waste of precious taxpayers' money.

I do not want unsightly wheelie bins outside my house making the area look like the local refuse centre. We also need weekly collections.

More bins, fewer front gardens, rubbish hanging around for longer, how is this helping our environment?

The cost of the new wheelies should be included in the council’s calculations of its ‘savings’

It will cause confusion for older people and also hinder residents access to their driveways.
