Yes, the teachers DO deserve the increase in pay. It is sad to know that some people would put technology expenses as a higher priority than hard working and dedicated teachers.

Teachers in the Bay Area, in general, need to be paid more especially for all the BS we have to deal with and getting no support from the administration! ALSO GET RID OF TESTING!!!!

I am a community college instructor who has witnessed the demoralization of high school teachers through erosion of compensation for the Herculean task of educating teens in a hypocritical institution and society. Paying teachers a professional wage raises the quality of education within communities and closes the equity gap. Find the budget. The economic, social, and human costs of not prioritizing our public school teachers are astronomical.

Remember when educators used to say "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance"? Ignorance isn't working too well in America, right now. Invest in quality education by keeping quality educators in Benicia!
