Polly, their website shows a class pattern similar to other middle schools with multiple periods on Monday, then half classes Tues/Thurs with other half Weds/Fri

I am in favor of the Carl Hankey / Capo Valley Feeder program for the Mandarin Immersion Program. Those appear to both be great schools.

Love that we can make a difference in our children's lives together. IB school is a great option for them.

If students take 8 subject areas, how does the schedule of school work since the norm of middle school schedules is for 6 periods? We need to also make sure that the wording for school of choice with the district says something of exemption for MIP students before things are set as it seems that some students try to get into Carl Hankey at 6th grade.

At this time based on IB programs and string principal support at Hankey I'm in favor. I'd luke to make sure that our students have a full set of mandarin classes and are able to participate in the IB classes.

Vicky - upon a closer look the students can take AP classes in the 9 & 10 but then transition to the higher level IB classes while in the program so they do still have the opportunity to gain AP credit, but not the years they're in the program. That is my understanding.

I think these are great schools. They would be a wonderful progression for MIP.
