The LASC students deserves quality education in an appropriate environment to succeed in their career. Please make any or every effort to provide the facility for the success and the attainment of their educational goals.

This is a valuable program that is needed in the South Los Angeles community. It provides a path to stable, middle class employment for students, while also helping to meet the growing demand for health care workers in the US.

Specialized Programs need Specialized Stats of the Art Facilities. LACCD can do better.

I am in full support of this petition, and hope that a positive resolution will soon be reached. LASC provides a wealth of invaluable tools to aid in the success of our students' futures. Let's ensure that they have the proper resources and support to be a viable and successful Nursing department!

Please provide the students with an environment that is conducive with success. There are other students that attend nearby community colleges and their programs are able have state of the art technology and dedicated buildings that are specifically for their nursing students. Why is it that Southwest nursing students can not be afforded this same benefit and opportunity? The students and faculty have been patient...please help.

I stand with the LASC Nursing program on their rightful demands for a new Nursing facility. It makes no sense that they should be compelled to operate in substandard conditions and facilities that are not conducive to a professional Nursing environment. As it stands, the current facilities actually deprive students of the quality education they are paying for. The current facilities the Nursing faculty are forced to utilize is akin to a mechanic teaching automotive repair in a bicycle shop, it makes no sense and is woefully inadequate. The powers that be should be ashamed and need to respond with no less than a new building on or off campus that provides equipment, space, and fixtures that are conducive to a professional nursing environment.

Nursing is a specialty and as such the environment in which we teach and educate students should be reflective of such. Would you send someone to get their hair cut in a mechanic shop? Therefore you shouldn't expect the nursing program to function effectively in a space that was design for the specialty.

LASC needs a stand alone nursing building! This program was highly recommended to me from a former graduate that is now a charge nurse! I am currently a LASC nursing student and our program desperately needs a building. This way the LASC, who are amazing nurses can continue graduating and giving back to our community.

This is ridiculous! A program that is basically keeping southwest afloat is in jeapardy of losing it's accreditation because of facilities. Really? Of all majors at LASC, nursing is the one that should get the most attention, adequate supplies abd materials to help properly educate the students while also giving the faculty the means to do so and should be properly funded for. For the nursing program is not only is consistent in the enrollment of new students for the school, but it also graduates a vast amount students each semester. Please get the nursing program what they need. If that is a building just give it to them as it will gravely benefit the school in many capacities. What we don't need is the building they currently are constructing, which will be used for astrology and/or astronomy, something of that sorts, which is a major that probably has very low enrollments as compared to nursing. I would recommend that this building, be the nursing building! If that is seen as a problem, then a consensus should be made in making it both the nursing and astronomy/astrology building! You can do so by designating of a few floors to each major depending on the architecture of the building, etc. Overall, don't lose something because of inconsistency and inconsiderate behavior that benefits and will continue to benefits the entire campus, the students, staff and faculty populations.
