This visit shows the utter contempt and disregard Ofsted show for professional teachers, not to mention the extraordinary lack of awareness or understanding of what extra work and hours are being forced on teaching staff every week because of working remotely. Good education management enables teaching, not disables it.

Teachers are under enormous pressure and had very little time to adjust to a world pandemic while copping with families and work. It is outrageous and absolutely unacceptable that you feel you have to proceed with an inspection at this moment.

I think that our government should trust us, the teachers of CONEL . more. Teaching is not a mere job, it is a calling which does not need monitoring. We all are doing an excellent work trying not just to teach our subjects but also support our students in these difficult times. I strongly believe that OFSTED visit is unnecessary.

It is hard to fathom what a visit by OFSTED at this time can achieve. Why is there no recognition that these are extraordinary times and that simply adding further pressures on teachers will not improve the quality of their teaching or record keeping.

I am an extremely conscientious and hard working teacher. I am overloaded with lesson preparations preparing mock exams, marking assignments and exams, responding to dozens of queries from my students, giving references, suffering headaches from looking against the screen all day long carrying out a myriad of administration tasks. When will I find time to think about science, education and teaching?
