It is not ‘business as usual’ at the moment, we are teaching in atypical times and no conclusions can be reasonably drawn about our teaching ability under these circumstances. Teachers are juggling childcare, lack of space and infra structure and are working flat out to make it work. We do not have full access to documents and marked work at home. We were sent into lockdown with no warning. This has been an incredible stressful time for teachers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty at great risk to their mental and physical health. To demand documents and to observe online lessons with 48 hrs notice is completely unreasonable and counter productive. A level teachers have had barely any guidance on assessment methods since the cancellation of the exams CAG results were queried by Ofsted which makes the inspection especially pointless. If students were able to make more progress this year than last then there would have been no justification for cancelling the exams. It would be more helpful is Ofsted ex teacher inspectors offered to help plug the gaps in education rather than criticise those who are working flat out to deliver specifications online.

I want to sign the petition. I agree with the other teachers that inspection at this very difficult time for teachers and students was undue pressure and totally unecessary

I understand the desire to maintain academic standards despite the effects of the pandemic, but OFSTED's intervention can only impact negatively on the efforts of the teaching professionals with whom I work at this point in time.

This is the time to support teaching and students, to care about their wellbeing and their mental health not to stress them all with monitoring visits of any sort. This can only have a negative impact in teachers, students and the whole College community.

How stressful it's all become! - the teaching I am prepared to go the extra mile for - but useless paperwork to show OFSTED NO! They will not see the our work adapting to teach people who cannot read and write or even communicate in English online in very unsupported circumstances, so what's the point.

Teaching and learning from home during a pandemic lockdown is a 'crises intervention' mode of action - fuelled by anxiety, uncertainty, grief and despair. The ethical conduct of an ofstead inspection during a crisis is certainly questionable and beyond belief!!
