Support The Transformative Redevelopment Plan Of Northwood Plaza

I support the TRANSFORMATIVE redevelopment plan of the Northwood Plaza shopping center.

This is a college area and they should be a part of the community. They will be a part of the economic growth of this project as well as part of the workforce.

Northwood, Herring Run, Mayfield and Lauraville all need other options besides the Safeway on Harford.... And no they don't need another dollar store!

I am a 12-year resident of Original Northwood, and though this shopping center is a quick walk from my house I get in my car and head to Towson to do my shopping. As it stands, Northwood Plaza is a blight on the surrounding neighborhoods. I fully support redevelopment to the Northwood Commons plan.

Please help this happen this center is a blight on the community and needs transformed ASAP.

This shopping center has so much potential the student housing would be great and make the center look like something great I live in ednor gardens and use the shopping center as much as I can but at the current time it is very limited . Please help Northwood be great again like when I was a kid getting new school shoes from Charles rudo

Northwood development would boost the economy. It would create a cultural center and live where you work opportunity in Baltimore. There is a light rail station close so it would attract people from other areas. People in this area need to go into the county to shop. There are no grocery stores or shops near Morgan or Loyola Colleges. The student demographic alone could support businesses. You also have entire neighborhoods who travel past this location to go to Towson to shop. Sure we have a few grocery stores, but not even one independent ice cream shop or sushi place for 7 miles in any direction from this location. Live where you work developments such as Columbia are very successful in creating a new economy based on demeographic need, they create cultural centers, they create open green spaces, cut down on the need for transportation. The fact that this one centers around student housing is also an opportuinty for neighborhoods to benefit from youth culture in a positive forum. Many forward thinkers and technologically advanced people are attending Morgan and Loyola. They are the portion of society that are shaping our futures. Live where you work spaces are the way of the future. Walk out your door along a manicured path, to your job at Barnes and Noble. Or bike down a path to light rail to your Stock broker job in the city. Walk down at night to see a free concert in Northwood or Hampden or Hamilton. Or sit and watch a free movie. Get to know your neighbors walking the dogs. These types of communities transform Cities.

As a former college professor and long time resident of Charles Village and Waverly, I fully support Morgan State University's redevelopment of the Northwood Plaza. From my experience living close to the Johns Hopkins University on the 3200 block of Calvert Street, as well as being a former business owner on the 3100 block of St. Paul Street in Charles Village, I have seen the positive aspects of college students living in the community. Redevelopment of the Northwood Shopping Center by Morgan State University is the right thing to do.

45th District. Right now I go to the County to shop. I would prefer to be able to buy decent groceries on my way home from work in the City.

I welcome a fresh new plaza! I live right in back of the shopping center and I dread having to go there for anything. We need to be able to Shop where we live aand keep our community alive and vibrant. I support this project

Keeping this from happening because of a few hundred UPPER CLASS Morgan State students living there is patently absurd. Anyone against this should walk over and look at the state of the plaza currently and then look at the rendering of what it would look like. And then look again. And then think real hard about which one looks nicer.

This development in the area of Morgan State, including on-site housing, would benefit the entire surrounding area. Please support! At present, and and for the years I have been in Baltimore, the existing strip is little more than an eye sore when it could be transformed to serve both Morgan students and the surrounding communities.

Having Morgan State housing on site will only make this more revitalized as Morgan students use the Commons and increase traffic to the center.

The footprint of this shopping area sits in an area primed to become a destination, higher-education focused shopping area. Baltimore could use another one of these spaces - akin to area surrounding JHU - especially one situated next to a premier HCBU.

Finally a plan for Northwood Plaza. I've lived in northeast for a decade and I've been waiting for this. Morgan students should be included in this project. It's a natural partner.

My son attends City College, and my other son plays little league at Morgan, the state of this center is shameful, Morgan students and homeowners deserve a hub where they can shop, enjoy a cup of coffee, meet friends for lunch. Think big!
