One neighborhood association???? rejects this project.. What about the rest of the community and the benefit to property owners, retail agencies, and the whole general area, . please do not let another neighborhood lose out on wonderful growth and progress because of ONE person/organization...

I live in Mayfield and welcome this project.

Many students live in our neighborhoods already. This would be a real boast.

The only future for this area is a reboot. Right now, it looks (and IS) pretty scary. Anyone who fools themselves into thinking otherwise is delusional. And the cooperation / involvement of MSU is _vital_ to any improvement.

I live right on the other side of the Herring Run from Northwood Plaza and would love to see this plan (including student housing) implemented!

Why wasn't this plan better advertised to residents on the east side of Morgan States Campus? Also, a specialty grocer like a Korean market would be less competive with existing Safeway, and also doesn't need the pharmacy. There's not a decent Korean, Japanese, or Thai restaurant anywhere in 5 neighborhoods.

Northwood Plaza has been in a state of decline for far too long. It's time for revitalization.

I don't think that the budget is realistic, but definitely a step in the right direction.

Along with many other long time residents of norther baltimore city, I have lamented the sad state of north wood plaza. When I went to Hopkins, will use to buy supplies for stage props at hechingers. That was 1997. Over the years, we have seen proposals come and go. Remember the proposed transit hub of 10 or 15 years ago? Nothing came of that. This is too good of an opportunity to pass up. How long must we wait for another opportunity? Morgan State is going nowhere, and upper class men can be screened effectively to reduce the potential neighborhood problems that I am sure have been raised.

Also how about 55 + active senior housing. This should also be market rate housing with no more than 15% if the units receiving any kind of subsidy.

Graduate students yes. Undergrads NO! It would also be great housing for visiting faculty, How about including a medium sized hotel for visiting parents and for families of patients at Union Memorial and Good Sam?

I'm tired of the status quo, the boring crap we have now, let's build the future.

When I read about the developmen, I was ecstatic. I remember going to Hecht s in northwood! Time to bring northwood back to a place that will serve all of the surrounding neighborhoods.

Sounds like a plan that incorporates the University and surrounding neighborhoods into a cohesive and future minded vision.Please support this initiative .
