Hello neighbors in the single-family homes at the Villages of Castleberry,
Many of you may be already aware that the town home board members recently passed a resolution to designate a smoking section at the pool. These board members on the town home side acted without input from their community at large. In addition, the town home board acted without discussing or taking a vote with the board members on the single-family home side (The Reserves). Our side of the community only has a 25% interest and therefore vote in shared community areas. This means unfortunately, we are subject to the town home board resolutions passed. Many of our great town home neighbors have launched a petition to allow a community vote to reverse the decision to permit smoking at the pool. To unify and show our support against this, I have included a petition link for the single-family home owners to sign to support no smoking at the pool. We are all aware of the dangers of cigarette smoke and want to keep the swimming pool family and kid friendly.

The momentum behind this petition continues to grow as more residents express their desire for a smoke free pool environment. This surge in support strengthens our position when we bring these concerns before the board.

I fully support NO SMOKING at our community pool. Having a child and myself having asthma I do not want to have to stop going to my pool because others cannot walk outside to smoke. NO SMOKING at our pool!!!
Whereas I do support the decision to isolate smoking areas further away, my larger concern is the lack of voting strength of the Castleberry 2 HOA (single family homes). This needs a re-evaluation or a true separation of the subdivisions should be evaluated. The vision of this subdivision changed from the original builder.

Its a no brainer! NO SMOKING . Smoke all you want at your home but not at our pool.

I have SEVERE asthma and cigarette smoke is my #1 trigger. It is ridiculous that smokers cannot walk outside the gated area to light up. There is no need to impact the health of each other and our kids because someone wants to smoke near the pool.
