-- support the Town Planning Board’s May 2014 resolution to deny Park Point because of adverse impacts,
-- are opposed to housing developers using tax abatements instead of paying taxes based on fair-market assessed values,
-- prefer SUNY to build their own housing and

Legal counsel is currently reviewing the Municipal Home Rule Law to prepare our formal testimony for the next Planning Board hearing. We have also reached out to local representatives to clarify the town position on tax abatements for developers.

The volume of support has reached a level that requires formal acknowledgment from the Town Planning Board. We are preparing a package of these signatures to present as official testimony during the upcoming municipal hearing.

The proposed project will be a tax burden, as well as an eyesore of a complex. The people of new Paltz have spoken through their elected officials and have every right to deny this project on several levels.
Keep our taxes fair and stop these developers from walking all over us. We pay enough already and dont need this monstrosity in our backyard.
New Paltz is a community that cannot be spoken for by embezzling institutions. No support for Park Point! Uphold the Municipal Home Rule Law!
The building of Park Point would only serve the SUNY New Paltz Foundation and Wilmorite, the two parties filing a lawsuit against the Town Planning Board for denying them in May. Off-campus students will be paying extra taxes if Wilmorite doesn't pay its taxes. These days we should be preparing new buildings with sustainability in mind, not 80s designed piggy banks so that Wilmorite and SUNY New Paltz Foundation can soak in money and nostalgia.
Build it Right, Wilmorite! It is unacceptable for SUNY to shift the tax burden of Park Point onto the backs of New Paltz residents.
This is NOT SUSTAINABLE!

As a tax paying home owner and business owner, I find it outrageous that this entity feels it is above paying its fair share of taxes. We don't need any more housing, and we don't need any more deadbeats. Thank you to all my officials that have spoken out against this, you have our support.
