Dave Peterson's students are fortunate to have a compassionate, dedicated, and inspirational teacher. He shouldn't be condemned or threatened with terminating his employment because of his interest in introducing his students to some of the finest short fiction in contemporary literature. I was fortunate to have as an inspirational teacher, the writer Frank McCourt, in my Stuyvesant High School creative writing class, where we read Herman Melville's "Moby-Dick", Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter" and Arthur Miller's "The Crucible". To this day I still remember him for being the compassionate, inspirational teacher that he was, not as the bestselling author of "Angela's Ashes" which he became many years later. I think Peterson's students deserve the same right, in having an exceptionally dedicated and inspirational teacher whom they will remember - as I have with Frank McCourt - for the rest of their lives.

Both of my son's favorite high school teacher. It would be an absolute shame to see Mr. Peterson be terminated. He inspired my boys, taught them to ask questions and gave them a passion for literature.

It would be a travesty for Arcadia to lose Mr. P. He was one of the best and most inspiring teachers I ever had.

Mr. Peterson is one of the best teachers at Acadia. His love for English and literature are inspirational. My family and I have no problem with his teachings and we believe his style is to help not only teach us but to help us mature into young adults

Don't get rid of him. He has taught me more in the 11 weeks I have been at this school than all of grade school combined
