It's been 8 years since I have been in class with Mr. P's class and can confidently say that he is one of the few educators whose impact is still relevant to my life. The concepts and perspectives taught by Mr. P remained with me and got me through many college courses. Most importantly, the excitement he towards literature he demonstrates and instills is unmatched.

Hands down one of the best teachers I've ever had in my life! Teachers are suppose to leave their mark on their students and Mr.P did just that! Everything about his teaching style and learning experience is unforgettable and beyond amazing! If every teacher was like Mr.P school would have been more fulfilling!

Mr. P is without a doubt the best teacher I have ever had. It has been almost seven years since I took freshmen honors English with him and I still remember important lessons he taught us on how to be a better writer and I can still have an in depth conversation on Catcher in the Rye, a Separate Piece, and numerous of the short stories we read in his class. Mr. P is an extraordinary teacher that genuinely cares about his students. While I was his student and even after, his lessons constantly improved my writing and my character.
Not sure I would have the appreciation, love, or understanding I have of literature if it weren't for my freshman year with Mr. Dave Peterson. In 16+ years of my education I have only come across 2 or 3 teachers who have truly made an impact on my life. Thanks, Mr. P.

(Sorry I couldn't edit this: the mobile version of this page is awful). Mr. Peterson stands out as one of the only teachers at Arcadia who didn't make me hate school. He provoked my interest in literature. The short stories specifically interested me, as well as his choice novel, Catcher In The Rye. I think that was the only book in all four years of high school I actually read cover to cover. It should be considered robbery for the administration of Arcadia High School to remove such an impactful teacher. What a shame it has even come to this. Why wouldn't you have the courage to stick up for a wild and succulent education for your students, AHS? Shame on you in advance, because I'm afraid you won't stand by a teacher who seeks to INSPIRE COURAGE and CREATIVITY. :(

As a teacher now I can without a doubt say that it would not be where I am today, an educator, without Mr. Peterson and the literature he taught in his class.

Mr. Peterson was the best teacher that I ever had as it is absolutely unjust that such a brilliant educator would be punished for teaching his students actual challenging and thought provoking material. This man has shaped countless students into better human beings and I believe the district should issue a sincere apology to Mr. Peterson!

Mr. Peterson is a great teacher, once in a lifetime teacher, and the fact that he is being attacked like this is ridiculous.

I hope the SUSD and everyone involved realizes that had it not been for Mr. Peterson's class, so many students, myself included, would not be the thriving and dedicated readers, writers, or students they are today.

This has got to be a joke. Mr. P was one of the best teachers I've ever had. He was genuine, passionate and able to connect with us at an age when most don't connect with anyone. I'm interested to hear what these parents are so upset about. This is so disappointing.
