we need to fight to keep wonderful educators for our children's sake! Especially high school students- they soon will be making their way in the world and needn't be treated like children. They should be challenged, and expected to grow. That won't happen if school systems keep treating them like inferiors and continue to dummy down the cirriculims

We can't afford to loose another quality teacher. This is one of the reasons we have lost our teachers.

Mr Peterson was one of the most influential teachers I had the chance of studying under at Arcadia. He really let students explore their own minds with many different types of readings and assignments. this is one of the only teachers I have gone back to visit and I am continuously telling people about the things I took away from his class. Mr Peterson must stay, I will have to attribute my success in school and interest in learning to this man!

I am very saddened to hear about this but Mr. P is a teacher his students past and present will fight for. "Censorship reflects a society's lack of confidence in itself." - Henry Steele Commager

I was so lucky to have Mr. Peterson as an English teacher not once but several times during middle school and high school. There are very few teachers that teach with passion and enthusiasm like Mr. Peterson. I remember looking forward to everyone one of his classes. I will never forget that he introduced me to Edgar Allan Poe, Ray Bradbury, and Kurt Vonnegut. When I reflect on my education he will always standout as an amazing educator.

Dave is one of the best teachers I've worked with. He has total passion for his subject and his students. He doesn't have a hidden agenda with his curriculum. It's ridiculous that we even need this forum to show support for him. Let good, passionate teachers teach!

I've never learned so much in a single class. Mr. Peterson sparked my interest in writing composition as well as literature! Hands down- Mr. P's Honors English I the was best class at Arcadia High School.

He is the teacher that has hands down influenced me the most in life including my college professors. He has made my learning so much more interesting and I appreciate him so much because of that. The way he teaches English is so creative and really gave me a positive outlook on school itself. He is the person who made me love school, reading, and writing and it would be such a mistake to lose such a valuable teacher and mentor.

Taking a passionate/dedicated/professional teacher out is not a wise choice for what education is suppose to stand for.

This is an absurd accusation. I had him as a teacher in middle school and he later came to the same high school. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to have him in high school but i still quote things he taught me.

Dave did some Graduate work with my friends and I was always stunned by his great passion and insight within education. I would be thrilled to have my children learn from someone like Dave Patterson

Only one of the best teachers I've had. Those who had him will understand that his way of teaching is one and only! Unique! He is a kind hearted teacher and caring. He has a passion for his work like no other teacher I've seen.
