Local small businesses are always the right choice. That Metro is great at what it does only makes it that much more important to protect and support it.

Metro Coffee is a real community treasure - they house among the most courteous, professional staffs in their field and represent our city's regional coffee culture as well as any coffee house downtown. Please support them through this time. Adam Martin Historic Stadium District Business Manager

Metro syupports a knitting group that meets weekly in the shop. The group is a unique combination of faculty, staff, and community members. Metro's location allows for meeting during lunch times and between meetings. Not only is it convenient and locally owned, Metro adds to the ambiance of the campus. Metro needs to be integral to any new arrangements.

Great alternative and desirable part of campus culture. UW needs to support its unique culture!

Metro Coffee is a great alternative to the overcrowded and mainstream "big box" coffee shop on Pacific. I love the funky atmosphere, their friendly and lively staff, and their random music selection. I'm a huge Metro fan who has frequented the place for years. Please let them grow with our campus community.

Metro Coffee should remain a fixture on the UWT Campus. They have great employees, a quaint atmosphere, and fantastic coffee!

I think it would destroy the option to support local business on campus if the metro was gone. Why force everyone to buy Starbucks? They provide a space that UW students want and need. They have been local pioneers in a big campus world.

Metro Coffee is a UWT standard and one of the best features on campus! I graduated a few years ago and still stop by for coffee when I'm in town. Please protect Metro Coffee!

The community needs a local shop like Metro. They have been in the neighborhood for years. Sends the wrong message to kick them out now.

No Metro Coffee would be a huge and extremely disappointing loss. They are a wonderful part of UWT, for all of the reasons listed in the description and more.

Metro is the social center of our campus; it's where work gets done. Please preserve this gem on our campus!

While I don't drink coffee or hang out much at the Metro, I'm always grateful that a non-chain cafe is available on our campus. The spirit of the place has always been welcoming and intimate. Removing another hub for intellectual and cultural activity in favor of real estate needs seems ill-advised. It reminds me of other evictions on our campus that changed the availability of cultural richness for our students.

Metro is one of the few places on campus where students, staff, faculty, and community members regularly bump into each other and have conversations, exchange information, and share a laugh. Stephani, Brian, Kara, and the rest of the barista crew are professionals but treat us like family. They know our names, our drinks, and have an honor system. They welcome everyone. But most importantly, it's the one place I can go and know I will be able to relax and enjoy casual conversations about ideas, life, and work. It is the soul of UWT's university atmosphere. Please - don't touch a thing. Instead, ask what Metro we can do to help it keep on doing what it's dong.

As a business member in the community, previous UWT employee and UWT graduate, I believe Metro Coffee serves is an integral part of the community - to the extent that Metro Coffee is community. The owners have created a space that is both welcoming and conducive to professional or personal meetings.

Every time I go to Metro I see faculty, students, and staff engaged in lively conversations. It would be a shame to lose this space of camaderie and conversation. Historically, coffee houses have been magnets for artists, writers, and intellectuals and hotspots for creative work, discussions, and action. We are so lucky to have that environment--at Metro--in the heart of campus. Plus, Metro serves our campus functions with non-corporate and independent taste and flair. Keep Metro where and as it is!
