Metro is a UWT staple. Please consider how to keep this business as part of the campus layout.

As a hub and meeting place for the campus, Metro Coffee has contributed to the spirit of UW Tacoma for over a decade. I urge the university to keep Metro open and part of our community.

Metro Coffee is an integral part of the UWT community. I go there nearly every day, and I've had many meetings there. Many great ideas have come from chance meetings of faculty and staff at Metro. The space that Metro occupies does not need to be "re-purposed." It ALREADY HAS a purpose.

Metro Coffee is more a part of UWT than most of the administrators! They have been family since Charlie and Gwen opened the place, and they deserve to be able to stay where they are.

Metro Coffee adds to the "Commons" of the Campus in the way that only a coffee house can. It's a wonderful place that feels urban and local at the same time.

Metro Coffee has been a wonderful place to meet other members of the UWT or local community.. I really like the non-corporate aspect and think it is an important.

The U in UWT stands for 'university'. By it's very essence any decent university should have a cozy, and perhaps even a 'gritty' little hangout where people can chat, or not, and just be, for lack of a better term, intellectual. Somewhere that students and teachers can bump into each other and chat outside the classroom. Keep Metro coffee where it is, and let our university keep at least a modicum of scholarly charm.

I have spent many hours in Metro Coffee while attending UWT. It is a great place to go and catch up on some class readings, and have chance run-ins with faculty, staff, and other students. The staff of Metro Coffee are always welcoming and they really go out of their way to be involved with community activities.

Community engagement and partnerships are core values of UW Tacoma. In support of these values, Metro Coffee, locally 'grown and developed', deserves to continue business in its current valued location.

An urban-serving campus has a responsibility not just to be a resource for its students but also to be a place where the local business community can interact with and benefit from the opportunities. Metro's unique café provides a sense of place that is not otherwise present at UWT. Let's support this business that has supported us for so long.

Keep the cafe. I found my little escape from reality here and made a home. The people here are genuine and a pleasure to be with, making my grumpy morning coffee run into many happy memorable experiences. :3

Metro Coffee embodies the interdiciplinary focus at UWT. At Metro students, faculty, and staff connect organically, outside of the formal meeting places on campus. I regularly schedule meetings with colleagues across campus here as it is a welcoming location.

The Metro Coffee shop is not a corporate institution like everything else on campus. It is locally owned and staffed. It is actually owned by real and good humans (corporations are not humans!). I worked at the UWT library for over 10 years and loved Metro Coffee and its owners and staff. Please sign the petition for the good of humanity and the good of the UWT campus. Thank you.

Metro Coffee adds character to the UWT campus while providing students and faculty with a great place to meet, study, and make a fast coffee run between classes. It would be a shame to see it go.

Keep the Metro! Sine the beginning, it has been the most welcoming, congenial meeting-place for students and faculty, and with great coffee and tea. It's a vital part of our campus culture, and has always been 100% supportive of campus events and activities.
