THere approach has been extremely professional and at all times were very helpful to our committee. Help from LEADER on several occassions was crutial in the development of and continuation of the Irish Cetic Art Company. Receiving assistance from Leader was of great benefit to the company in becoming the 2nd largest supplier in the Irish industry of traditional irish craft.

Cavan Monaghan Leader were instrumental in assisting us, Drumavaddy Social & Development Association here in Cavan in renovating our Local Community Centre back to a centre where the people of the Community Can gather together for different occasions and activities - They brought the heart back into our Community with their assistance and it would be a disaster to loose this support for people like us.

The lessons from the demise of the celtic tiger teach us that economic prosperity and social progress do not derive from an unregulated free market or reigniting the property market, but need to be driven and directed from the bottom-up, and local development companies are essentail in this respect. This service is needed and should not be cut.

I work for the LESN who is Managed by Monaghan Intergrated Development Company. We work with the unemployed and the most marginalized people in our area. We have been working for 13 years under this Management and certainly do not want to see this good work under the management of MIDL be at risk.

The core competencies built up by the development companies must not be lost in any changes to the administration of these EU funding programmes. In working with more than one development company, for both public and private projects, their knowledge of the funding programmes & the needs of local communities and their professionalism has impressed me. It would be a retrograde step to lose this store of experience and knowledge.

I believe that the Local Development Companies current structures should stay in place as they provide extremely important services in a very proffesional manner.
