DECLARATION OF SUPPORT FOR IRISH LOCAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES

SECAD has enriched our loca area's amenities, facitilies and businesses more than anything else. We would be infintely poorer without it here in East Cork.

yes

An invaluable resource to communities

I support the Irish Local Development Companies

As a past Chairman of Inishowen Development Partnership,I wish to add my support for retaining the Leader organisations which are serving their communities very well and are closely in touch with the community needs with their "bottom up" approach.

The Local Development Companies have supported communities to make positive change and are an integral part of Irelands recovery into the future

This will be a tragedy for limerick, it is vital necessity for the community and the people who work in all areas please support this petition xx

Cavan Monaghan Leader has been a friend when we needed one

Of all of the development and funding agencies working in this area, we have found that the best and the most efficient is Cavan-Monaghan LEADER as a joint venture of the Monaghan Integrated Development Limited and Breffini Integrated Limited. They funded a project we ran for last year's Gathering and without this funding the event would not have taken place. This was in support of a government tourism initiative. I feel that LEADER is particularly important in this area where we have a scattered rural population with few of the facilities enjoyed by most of the Irish people. This is an area of particular disadvantage, from which resources have been starved for many years due to the border and the Troubles.

The current alignment proposal from the Govt. of the day and Minister Phil Hogan are most disturbing and concerning in that they could potentiallysee the end of the " bottom up approach" of bodies such as South Kerry Partnership - and this of course would be devestating for our rural people, their communities and rural areas such as South Kerry. In that regard the deafening silence and lack of support from so very many (but not all) of our elected representatives and Govt. Officials is bewildering and baffling to say the least and should not be forgotten if this disasterous proposal for South Kerry and rural Ireland comes to pass.

We need to keep this local company!!!

Cavan Monaghan Leader are a team to be trusted and have given great help to our small community in Corlough West Cavan from answering phone call emails and call out they have been efficient and obliging

Leader have been invaluable in generating tourism in the Cavan / Monaghan area and have a proven track record . Why change a winning formula with a system that will add only more layers of beaut
