This current model for Local Development in communities works well. The proposed changes will be to the detriment of local communities!

The work of the Community Development Team in Monaghan Integrated Development has led to participation in Education and Training Programmes by those most excluded in the county. The work of these community development workers greatly promotes social inclusion and engages those who are hardest to reach.

This organisation had been tremendous support to my business and in turn so many other individuals as a spin off from this. It is an essential part orf Irish communities and so many schemes and individuals would falls through the cracks if it was to discontinue

We really do need our Local Development Companies, who have the local knowledge and expertise to deliver a fanastic service, like our Local Development Company in Inishowen, Co. Donegal. They are a fundamental essential service to help our economy improve especially in this extremlely difficult time here in Donegal (the forgotten county)!

it is not fair that the government wants to do a job that's already been there for well over 20 years and are doing a great job.

ThExperts who work in this area as those within CLDC and other LDCs, should be at the forefront rather than non qualified and inexperienced civil servants within local authorities. Especially at this critical time for Rural Ireland. Ni neart go chur le cheile.

Having worked in local development in a rural environment, I can vouch for the need to continue the valuable support that local development companies provide for the local community to thrive, especially now when jobs are scarce and opportunities for training is limited.
