I support the continuation of the role of the 50 existing, experienced local development companies in Ireland. I oppose the minsters wishes of changing same.

The support I receieved from Donegal Local Development Company to start up my business was remarkable. It's unjustifiable that this support would no longer exist for future entrepreneurs.

I am chairperson of Banteer community centre which 20 local clubs use on a daily basis .We discovered we had a leak in the roof early 2013 we as a group applied for funding to IRD newmarket and were succesifull and by August 2013 we had a new roof ,the point I want to make is if there is another layer added there will be less for community,s like mine and it will be more difficult to get funding.

If control of Leader Funds passes to Local Authorities rural Ireland will lose out. The Government knows this and is ignoring the facts.

IRD should be left as it is.
