LDCs encourage genuine community action . That kind of culture and commitment cannot be found in any other kind of organisation. Their survival is vital for continuing local community development.

i fully support this campaign and would also add that all stake holders should be involved in all future talks concerning same.
Local communities would be lost without our Local Development Company Ballyhoura Development

MID provides a extremely good and needy service to the local community that would not be available through the local council network due to their lack of expertise in this area
If we value the principles of Partnership, equality, Inclusion, participation, flexibility then why pass over the contract for the Local Community Development Programme to the Local Authorities who do not practice these principles. And since when has a County Council adopted a bottom up approach to developmnet based innovation, co-operation, networking, Local public-private partnerships, multisectoral actions & bottom-up implementation ??

It is imperative that the work of the Local development Companies in empowering and encouraging their communities to look at the best ways to developed with the interest of the wider community at hearth. This must be protected Support your Local development companies and there Staff

Local development companies have a proven track record in delivering social inclusion and rural development programmes. This model of delivery has been cited as an example of good practice in Europe. Why dismantle something that has a proven track in delivering these programmes. LDCs should be kept as the delivers of both programmes into the fture
Unbelievable that this is still being pushed from Phil Hogans Dept. HE is trying to destroy all that's good in Ireland. Irish people working together to make better communities. Bottom Up that's what is keeping the country going and HE wants to take it away and kill that spirit. Shame on YOU!

The model of elected community representation working in partnership with other stakeholders to build local communities is one to be protected and strengthened, not weakened. I support this petition

If the alignment of Local Government and Local Development (which have some positives in the proposal) does not achieve the retention of 1 and 2 of this petition, the sustainability of LDCs will be seriously undermined.
