LDC's have delivered for their communities. Stop the centralisation of services.

Rural Ireland has sufferered enough losses to date .This would be an extremely retrograde step to consider removing the Ballyhoura Development which has done so much positive developments in the past.

Local development companies in the style of Ballyhoura have demonstrated their efficiency, close contact with communities and significant success in Bruff and District!

Losing Ballyhoura Development in its current form would be a huge blow to the region. They have been of immense help to us in growing our business in recent years.

Local development companies' accessibility and flexibilitywill be sorely missed if they are forced to close.

I support the bottom-up approach of rural and community development that local development companies have demonstrated so well

I believe that transferring funding from the Local Development Companies to loacl authorities would be a retrograde step. I have found that working with Ballyhoura Development to be a very positive experience and very beneficial for my commonity. In my view The Local development companies should be given more power and more funding as it is the only way in which small rural communities will be helped to develop. If one looks at the proposals for the Cork County Development Plan it is evident that small rural communities like mine will not receive any support from the Local Authority and will be allowed to deteriorate further. All the focus is now on developing the larger areas of population.

I have found Ballyhoura excellent to deal with and ery pro-active in helping to get small enterprises off the ground in rural settings. As a professional advisor I am extremely concerned that any change to Ballyhoura's role in administering leader grant aid will have a detrimental effect on small business in rural ireland.

We support SECAD for providing funding for local developments and preserving our heritage in our community. LDC's have to be protected as we need them going forward to deliver for all communities.

Local Development Co.s have over the years demonstrated their willingness and capacity to engage within local communities. The model allows communities to be involved in decision-making that affects their local areas. It has been a model that most other European countries would aspire to. It is of grave concern to local development all over the country if the flexibility and responsiveness that was characteristic of the LDcs is lost to agencies that are unable to operate in a similar manner.

Without South West Mayo Development Company Ltd and their ongoing advice and assistance, our company would not have gotten off the ground in 2011 and been able to grow each year since then.
