I have lived in Chapin for 17 years now. All of those years in Timberlake Estates. Within the last two years, I have seen truly no eco friendly or eco concern due to nothing but pure greed. It needs to stop. I’m all for making a living, but an honest, respectable one. Not one at the cost of an overburden infrastructure and no true concern for environmental impact. Both can be addressed and done right and well with profits made. Maybe less, but still profit with a conscience.

The continuous building is absolutely ridiculous. Too many home, too many vehicles, to many kids for our schools. All the forest are being cut down like there is no tomorrow. We need wildlife, birds, trees - we do not need more houses or people until there is a plan to deal with all of them. I don’t care how mad the builders get. It is their greed and lack of responsibility in providing sewer, roads, police, etc that will be needed there cover all the new development. You need to make them responsible instead of allowing them to destroy all that made Lexington special, get rich, and move on to cause more destruction. No more building until Lexington is made functional to handle this mess.

Please keep the moratorium in place. We do not need irresponsible building like the one going on in my neighborhood currently, which is causing the current residents a headache trying to get in and out of our street since it’s the only way in and out of our street. This seems to be something that was irresponsibly approved without considering traffic and other things.

I support the moratorium. From what we have seen since moving to the Chapin area nearly 30 years age, a more well-thought-out plan needs to be developed and adhered to if we don’t want to overtax the existing infrastructure.

Can’t not accommodate the rate of building or the amount of people. Schools already overcrowded and they are NEW. Infrastructure and EPA concerns.

lex is suffering from developers who do their own thing and school districts that are happy to spend on buildings(not teachers). If the county wants to slow things down and do planning, why the continuous expansion of water/sewer/gas out 378/and Augusta HyWy into areas that are not developed. Charleston Co SD required developers to give decent property to build schools, before development was approved. Mt Pleasant held issuing building permits numerous times to throttle developers, forcing planning for schools/water/roads. Productive farms (peach/strawberry) here, are going to the highest bidder to build more houses. Lex Co needs an integrated planing process w/ every dept on our tax bill at the table (yes... mental health, aging, etc;). As it is, behind the scenes influence, money, special pleas drive the current hodgepodge. Not citizens.

The traffic flow and number of cars in this area is already phenomenal. The infrastructure is woefully inadequate. In the mornings traffic is backed up on Wessinger Road and the solid line of cars continues all the was down 76 to and on Rauch Metz Road. Some drivers attempt to go around sitting cars which adds to an already dangerous commute.

Lexington is blowing up and not in a positive way. We need people thinking these proposals through thoroughly before signing off on them.

Lexington, SC needs more real restuarants, not fast food restuarants. And not more housing until the amenities are adequate.
