The Colne Community School finally caved and gave Kane his place. They had no excuse for blocking us in the first place and I am glad they stopped playing games with my son's education.
Please would you be kind enough to sign the petition in support of me & my son Kane in trying to secure him a place at the Colne Community School, which has been refused (& no reason given) even though we live in the catchment area & have lived in Brightlingsea all our lives.
The Colne Community School board is still hiding behind a wall of silence instead of explaining why they blocked Kane from his own local school. We refuse to accept this blatant exclusion and we are ramping up the pressure on them until they provide a real answer.

This young man deserves a place in the Colne Community School the family have lived in Brightlingsea all their life and Kane has been a regular pupil at the local Primary School, how can a local lad be refused when they have bus loads of young people from surrounding areas.

How can they justify bussing in pupils from outside when they can't give local children the space. This is disgusting bad for the environment. More busses bad for the child travel to and from separated from friends. Bad for the parents expense for travel bad all round.

I've never heard anything like this. Expecting an autistic youngster to travel to Colchester by bus for schooling when there's a secondary school in his town

Absolutely the wrong decision made by the colne here! Transition from primary to secondary is hard enough without having to travel so far and PST the school where all your friends are! Why isolate this child from his local school?

I would like to know why a child from Goodmayes, near Ilford has been accepted into Colne Community School, because the Grandparents live in Brightlingsea. It`s a disgrace! Definitely something wrong with the system!
